B-2 Shay Modeler's Handbook

A very special Shay Handbook designed to help you in your final assembly and super detailing of the Shay kit. The Shay Modeler's Handbook takes over where the MDC instruction booklet stops – nothing but "scrumptious" Lima Class "B" 2-truck Shays, Shay line drawings and historical facts from the original Lima Locomotive files. The Shay Modeler's Handbook was designed by modelers, for the modeler. Not just small insignificant little Shay snapshots, but 1/2-page and large format full-page right & left views of Shay locomotives from the Allen County Museum Lima archives. From the ground up, under construction on the erecting floor, illustrating photographically, in clear close-up views, the Shay 3-cylinder engine, the boiler backhead, steam turret, and steam brake jamb, and close-up views of the oil fired details: oil burner and manifold (oil control valves). There are four complete pages of side elevation drawings as used in the actual Roundhouse Products Class "B" 2-truck Shay tooling. Special super detailing drawings supplied by noted historian and author, Dan Ranger, illustrating the Shay original "steam" brake system and updated steam and air combination brake system. ..

Softbound (perfect binding); 66 pages (B/W)
